My 2002 disco td5 has the solenoid s/c or o/c message on the Nanocom. I’m assuming that the solenoid is defective. Is the solenoid easy to access/change without taking the box off? Thanks.

Maybe if you tell which ECU is involved and the exact code you get otherwise it doesnt make much sense especially that you are in the engine section here

P0758 solenoid valve 2 monitoring. As far as which ECU is concerned, no idea.
When you connect nanocom you have to select an ECU first then it shows codes for that one so you dont know which ECU you selected?.... anyway according to the code seems that it's about the autobox's shift solenoid MV2, you have to remove the valve block to replace that but in this case it can be the very common "P clip" issue when the gearbox harness gets hurt where it's clipped to the top of the box so that's what you have to check first

Thanks. For further info, I checked the level of the ATF, going through the correct procedure, and I’ve put around a litre plus in. The M&S lights extinguished and cleared the code. 12 hours later, the M&S lights are back with the same fault code.
