Morning all,

A couple of issues. First, my footwells keep getting a little damp. Front arches are welded so that's solved. Is there any bungs that are prone to fall out in the bulkhead that I should check for?

Secondly, the disco seems to be leaning slightly to the left when looking at the front. Is this normal or is it a bigger problem I should be worrying about?

Cheers,

Henry

Which model have you got? My footwells got wet in my 2000 TD5 and it was the air con bungs blocked either side of the bell housing under the car. Is your whol car leaning over or just rear left or rear right? does it have rear air suspension?

Hi,

Sorry should have mentioned the model! Its a "95 300Tdi 5Dr which doesnt have aircon.

It seems to be the whole vehicle but doesnt have air suspension.

both are very common, if you search there are hundreds of posts about leaking discos and leaning suspension
if its leaking there are many places it could be, mainly around glass
if its leaning really badly then maybe needs new springs but id only be concerned if it was more than an inch or so

They can leak in at the top if the dash. Best bet is to go inside and have a mate hosepipe it and see of you can see water. How thoroughly were the arches repaired??

Also, I fitted a 3" lift to my disco which was wonky and it went level, but then went wonky again after about 2 days on new springs.

It is about an inch lower on the drivers side, depending on loading or what day it is!

It might be leaking at the top windscreen seal, mine is at the moment too so got to get some sealant around it quite sharpish.

Must be standard leaning then as mine is about an inch but some days it looks level! Ah the wonder onf Disco's hey?

Ive had the windscreen replaced this morning and am currently pulling aprt the dashboard to find a leaky heater matrix!!!!! Got a replacement for £30 so happy days. Footwells arnt rusted so a couple of fan heaters and shes dry as a bone!

on my disco, when i repaired the wheel arches and as it was without the front wing for a good 3 months, i could see how the water was getting in and was running along the square box section just in front of the door winges...

you can see on the pic below that i siliconed and underseaed it, (its the black line running vertical just in front of the door winges)

yep! :D

was only slightly rusted through, like an hairline crack, would have taken me ages to cut and weld...the silicone was quicker!

fair play mate - sealant is for winners!

bung it up with expanding foam, seal round it with sikaflex, and spray the whole lot in schutz...

VERY STURDY REPAIR :D
