It seems to me that a good one is rare but I have to say I am very happy with mine.

Just had it for a full year now, an 04 TD4 and it has been no trouble at all.

I have only had to spend money on tyres, a service carried out by Cluchdust (he is great by the way, really knows his stuff) and an MOT last week which it sailed through with no problems.

It has been on 2 tours of the Scottish Highlands each about 2500 miles with 4 adults and loads of camera kit complete with a large roofbox full of luggage a 3 day tour of Wales and another 9000 miles of general driving.

I have taken it off road a few times on the ridgeway and a few weeks ago a day out on salisbury plain with not so much as a cough.

All BMW TD4s.Eldest is 160k. All never washed/polished. Many drivers. Negotiate rivers and mountains. Synthetic oil and filter every 3K. Annual coating of all exposed parts with old oil/grease. 10% veg oil fuelling. All EGR valves disconnected. Hirers love them.Awesome vehicles. D....

one year on, bin using mine for work, still loving it. 30k miles and all its cost me is for a brake hose with a cut on it for the mot (due to off roading no doubt), and a small modification I made to the rear number plate light to make it work properly all the time, and not just when you bang it. Td4 Auto by the way.
