Here we go again.

Everything is white - looks like a Xmas card from our lounge window.

Supposed to last for a week.

Between snow showers it's bright sunshine.

Just as well I didn't take off the prop-shaft and/or VCU for the summer.

Or change over the snow tyres.

I'll be waiting for the clocks changing before I swap anything.

I checked my diary for last year and we had snow here on the 20th of April 2012.

Have fun folks - but Stay Safe.

Singvogel.

It may not be betterer, but it's certainly more fun. :p

Well I'm not sure - I can have a hell of a lot of fun in someone else's car, on their insurance and them paying the bills.

I had a LandCruiser for a month on hire one winter and the things it could do were amazing. ;)

The most amazing thing was the fuel consuption - I even checked that I hadn't holed the tank. :p

Very comfortable though - like a cross-country armchair. :)

One guy had a leased Disco - that was good too - he carried a bag of spare fuses and relays for it. An electrical wizardry nightmare.

I don't think I could cope with any DIY maintainence on either of these beasts. :(

Pity I don't do the lottery any more, right enough. :(

I've driven a D4 oft road and admit it can do more than a Freelander. But wheres the limit? I just wanted to do more difficult things and push it further. All vehicles get stuck eventually and if allowd I would have got it stuck. My Freelander is more fun to drive. Thats got to count for why we like/have them. Our snow didn't settle.

If you can afford to buy one of these bad boys, then you can Probs afford to run it:)

We tried to get across the Peaks last night (Holme Moss if you're a local), but found the road blocked by other stuck cars.

Lots of cars struggling on the way down, I just turned on HDC and cruised the whole way down. Great system.

How steep is Holme Moss?

Hi Max - Gruß von Schottland.

Frau Singvogel's cousin in Passau reckons the snow will arrive in Freistaat Bayern around Wednesday or Thursday.

Talking about hire cars.
Last year I had a Mitsubishi Shogun Auto on hire for 5 weeks, paid for by the insurance company after a Council Refuse lorry reversed in to my at quite some speed.
The Shogun was amazing, but I swear I could see the fuel gauge going down when driving it at speed. The other downside was coming out of Southampton after a "Shopping trip" with my Wife I accelerated as I would have done in my TD4 Auto and didn"t look at the speedo and lo and behold I went through a speed trap in a 40mph limit touching nearly 50mph. 3 points and £60 that cost me.
