Hi guys and gals, like I said in my introduction I am having problems and headaches with my Td4. The car is great until I get to around 65mph and it starts to lose power! When you let off the accelerator and drop to around 50mph the power comes back on to around 65mph.

Also when I start the car and let it idle it starts to give out horrible and stinking smoke. As soon as I can floor it the smoke clears, until I let it idle again.

If there is anybody out there who can offer some help with my troubles then it will be much appreciated.

Cheers
Nick

Replace the pressure delimiting valve filter
Add fuel injector clean
Check last time fuel & air filters replaced
Disconnect MAF sensor
Disconnect vac pipe to EGR

See what happens

Check all three turbo pipes. The smallest of holes could give you a problem as they run under very high pressure.

try injector cleaner, (£15 stp ) it worked for me , took a couple of tank refills before mine cleared, i use it on a regular basis now, engine is quite responsive now
good luck

Thanks for the replies guys, I have tried the injector cleaner and that didnt touch the sides. the garage where we bought the Freebie from gave me warranty with the car but they still 6 weeks later cannot find any problems with her. They have changed the low pressure pump in the tank, all the filters have been changed, the oil changed and they have replaced the cam shaft sensor.

They are being really helpful but I feel they dont have a clue about these 4x4's or this particular engine.

i would still work on dirty injectors first,
mine took quite a while to clear

have you tried disconnecting the air flow sensor , as mentioned by shutty

Hi John, I wouldnt know where to start with it mate! I will however mention it to the garage and ask them if it works or not.

Cheers
