Simple one... you open the door and the tailgate window drops enough to open it.
Question....
What makes the windows drop enough to close it.?
On mine.... the handle needs to be pressed to lower the windows to CLOSED it....
If this isn't right.... how does it work?
Thanks Advance..
Wayne

The CCU will trigger the tailgate drop just enough when the remote key is pressed near. So the unlocking via the full unlocking on the console trigger all doors to unlock until you pull on the tailgate handle release will also release just enough.

As sort of said above. The rear door lock and window is under CCU control. The CCU drives the window down about 1 inch before releasing the latch. The CCU knows the window and the door is open by monitoring the boot light switch. When the door is relatched the boot light switch tells the CCU that the door is now shut so the CCU drives the window up again.
If the boot light switch isn't sensing the door is open, it stands to reason that the CCU may well drive the window up again after the outer handle has been released.

That makes sense.. so the boot light is relied upone for the window control... i obviously have an issue with the boot light...
I will investigate as I dont remember having a light in my removeable top... i guess it will be somewhere in the side panel(s).
Any how.... wheres the switch.. lol

The boot light is in the right hand side panel. The boot light switch is built into the boot lock in would think. That's where the passenger door switches are.

Ok.. i have a spare locking mechanism if i need to try that....
But..
I press the handle the window drops and i open the tailgate. I let go of the handle and it goes back up before i close the door... i think it has been this way for a while to be honest... there is evidence that a previous window has broken before I inherited the car....

Also... I cant for the life of me adjust the window mechanism bottom bolts enough to pull the top of the window into the frame at the top... i've even fitted longer bolts and nuts behind the panel t lock them.in place... also tried adjusting the door hinges to try and compensate for this....

Mine was like that when I bought it. I replaced the mechanism and it has been fine since. I think the interior light switch is in the mechanism.
As for the window position, it might need reset, not sure how to do it tho.

finally after 3 to 4 months, I found where i had the BRAND NEW FULLY BUILT locking mechanism....
however; sadly; it hasn't fixed the tailgate glass issue....
although.... changing the mechanism and not looking for the SUV's rear boot light... that's another story!!

It sounds like maybe cables for the micro switch in the door lock mechanism are broken or not connected correctly. If the entire mechanism is new then the switch should be OK.

I've followed the wiring to the door hinge, and linked out the Purple-Blue with the black, and the result is the same.
although.... I've changed the bulb in the interior light, but it's on all of the time - wire linked out or not.
The interior light ONLY GOES OUT when i press the button to lock the door.
- and... the car will lock with the door open or closed without sounding the horn.
although, bonnet or other doors open and the horn pips.
Although I have carried out the recalibration sequence (after the battery was disconnected for a full minute - and the 1500rpm for 10seconds - thing)
so... where is the Control unit for the tailgate? - I could do with tracing all of the wires back!

Yeah, defo sounds like a wire is maybe shorted out or broken somewhere, Can't help with the wiring diagram but I guess it should be in the Rave.
