Hi chaps.
Had a strange power fade whilst accelerating the other day, a strange feeling like fuel starvation. It only really showed it's self when under a bit of pressure, so I thought it was time to change the fuel filter.
I got one from my local motor factors for £12.00
Came home from work, had tea, and thought, it's a nice night, I'll do it now.
Jacked up rear offside and removed the wheel, so far, so good.
got under landy and started to remove the 2 bolts, one of which came out easily. Then tried the other one, well there's always one **** isn't there? And it's always the one that's hardest to get too. It was stiff as F..k and resulted in the bracket which is pop riveted onto the plastic casing breaking the rivets off, (first snag). After removing the scrivet I could see the setup. After ****ing about trying to get various plugs and tubes off, I managed to get fuel ****ing out of the filter running straight down my arm and soaking into my sleeve. Then to get the old filter out. What a ba.....ard, which fu....ing asshole designed this ****?
It was solid and I couldn't budge it. I ****ed about for half an hour with a pair of adjustable pliers trying to loosen it. Had to vertually destroy it to get the f..ker out.
Having managed that I gave the tube a good clean and proceeded to put the new filter in. F.ck me! It was just as hard to get it in than getting the old one out, how pigging stupid. At this point I'd just like to meet the **** that thought this was a good idea, and shove it right up his ass, what a f...ckin stupid system, ended up hammering it in with a rubber mallet, bloody hope I don't have to change it again, I mean, it's a LANDrover, imagine trying to do this in the middle of nowhere?
Anyway, it took me 3 bloody hours to do a job that should take 10 minuts.
T W A T S A T L A N D R O V E R, I hope your bollocks fester. :multiply:
Phew, feel better for that lads. Thanks for your indulgence.
