Daughter got a 2007 FL2..mines 2010..died, diagnostics said GLOW PLUGS & CRANK SENSOR..So both have been replaced now but its jst winding and not starting. I thought it could be air in the fuel lines so I got my hand pump and did that. Still no start. Could this just be the battery not at its full life? I know they do need their power to start...any ideas wat I can check, I don't have a diagnostics jst yet. Its in the mail. Anyone have diagrams of wat to do to bleed the lines? So I can tell if I've done it properly. Single mum here, jst learning about my Freelander, I've replaced the intercooler hose TWICE..replaced brake line, oil change, oil filter, fuel filter and my daughters car is doing my head in. Shes a brat and doesn't understand the value of "UNDERSTANDING YOUR VEHICLE"
THANKS GUYS.

Hi Kez.
Welcome so are you saying you recently changed the fuel filter on the MY07 and did you use the bulb to purge the system before trying to start the car, make sure the battery is fully charged also, the FL2 is battery power hungry.

what was the symptoms leading up to the NO start let us know.

My daughters 2007 model, she jst bort, it drove for a day and died. Diag: crank angle sensor and glow plugs. All 4 plugs are replaced now and the sensor but its jst winding. Onto the second battery(which is my old one charged up), I haven't given it another crak yet cz I want to line up a battery charger first(which I jst have to pick up) its saying something about the HDC. Do u think we should do the filter?

And thank you for welcoming me, pretty sure uve assisted me in the last 8months doing my own fixes. I've always owned Fords, never a diesel.. ! I've used this site to do all the things I've done to my 2010 FL2..I JST LOVE HER! Thank u so much for taking the time

My daughter tried turning it over b4 id got bk after the plugs were done...but I disconnected the flat batt/ and used a hand pump for the fuel..cz I had to do that with mine. So, after she fitted the crank sensor, she drove it for about 15mins and got it home, it was chugging rough as and died in the front yard and wouldn't start again.

HDC faults when cranking generally point to a weak battery.
Did you fit the correct crank sensor? There are 2 options on early cars.
