Silicone Hoses.

I have read a load of threads that relate to EGR and silicone hoses.

I was just wondering what silicone hoses do that any other hose wont?

Why silicone?

its more wot they dont do that others do - like go soft, spongy , gooey and split.

which means:

So does that mean when replacing any hoses/pipes that shold be silicone? Would a garage automatically replace with silicone hoses or would they need to be requested? I am guessing that they are more expensive?! (I know - I don't know very much, please be nice to me?!)

Silicone hoses are betta, if yu can justify the extra expense - they also, only come in "standard" sizes and shapes - not funny moulded ones like manufs use.
