Disco 2 Small hoses replacement, clamps, and one missing?

I'd like to be rid of all the rubber hoses in the engine bay. Sets for silicone air and coolant ones are easy to come by; but what about all of the other really little ones. Some are air, some vacuum, right? (Which are which?) I presume I can just get a length of something and cut to size as needed; but what? And what about little clamps? Specifically I'm replacing the intercooler hoses soon, and will be taking out the metal pipe for a clean and paint - but the small hose coming off the side of it looks like it'll fall apart when I pull it off, so want to just replace it.
And while around the area; I'm thinking something is missing here, between that box and the air intake hose?


Also, does anyone know what sizes of jubilee clips I'll need to replace the old clips on the coolant rail to water pump hose?

I think you just need to measure the diameter of each male hose fitting that you need to connect to then search for the bore size for that, for instance "1/4 inch bore silicone fuel hose" if they make such a thing. I don't personally know if they make such a thing.
The other thing you can do is substitute or add in the words "High performance".
You could go totally potty and do braided hose all over.
Sites like "Europa" used to do this, so companies that cater for the above groups of peeps plus also those who do race and rally cars.
I'll dig a little further for you. "Car builder solutions" might do them too.

The sizes of jubilee clip will be determined by the outer diameter of the hose you get, and overbraid hose needs spedial fittings.
Some do a kind of fake thing where they buy steel overbraid and fit it over standard hose with rather silly fittings on the end..

It helps a bit, and with places to look. So thanks; but I was kinda hoping that someone would know the specifics as I'm concerned that I'm going to break some just taking them off to have a look, so want replacement at the ready.

In that case you need one or more of those diagrams with part numbers on them which when you then search for online give a descrition of them including the bore diameter.
Soem on here seem able to find these parts exploded diagrams but I don't have this knowledge.
Maybe I can search for that too.

Yeah, all I seem to keep finding is coolant system hoses too.
 
I'm feeling a bit cr@p at the mo, (bad guts), so still in a dressing gown otherwise I'd go out and have a look at the hole you have found to see what should be in it!

You're missing one of the small pipes from the wastegate modulator (the box) to the intake hose. There should be a plastic elbow in the hole on the intake and a pipe on it that goes to the top of the modulator.

The plastic elbow can be bought on its own - DNG100280.
The 3 pipes from the wastegate modulator to the wastegate/intake/intercooler can be replaced with 4mm ID silicone hose which is what I did. I just reused the tiny clips but you're missing at least two - can't remember the size but the part number for those is MYC100230L.

Brilliant, just what I needed to know! I take it those three are positive pressure lines? Are the pipes on the other side of the engine bay, at least some of which are vac pipes, right?, the same?

As far as I'm aware the 3 are the only pipes of that ID. The vacuum pipe the other side (between the alternator and the brake booster) is a different size. Not sure about the pipes for the EGR if it's still fitted.
