Good afternoon @jamesmartin !

I did most of the rebuild of a suffix D gearbox about eight years ago (and so have forgotten the thought process at the time), and am just finishing it off rather than rebuilding the one that came with the lightweight. I've noticed that the spacer under the circlip on the input (clutch side of the bellhousing) is missing. So taken off the circlip and tried to fit it. No way it'll go in there, no room, I didn't measure but the gap can't be more than a few thou. I've tapped the shaft as far into the bearing as it'll go.

Any ideas? Did the suffix D maybe not use one? Could I have the wrong bearing (55714)?

spacer comes in several sizes starting with 2mm(78 thou) are you sure its not the other side of bearing and is bearing fully home
a pic might help

I'm fitting it on the clutch side? Just going back up to the workshop, I'll take the front off and pull it out for a good looking at, and will then try assembling it before fitting the bearing to the case.
