hi all, hoping for a little help!

i will be taking up a position at the hospital in stanley, capital of the Falkland Islands later this year.

A Land Rover is the vehicle of necessity there, rather than choice. There are only limited vehicles available for sale there (apparently)

My question is does anyone have a clue how much it would cost to ship a car to the Falklands?

thanks

Chris

Were good on here, we can get potters wheels from one side of the country to the other and Cbs the other way, we can spend a week discussing the logistics of getting a 90 roof and sides down to the deepest darkest corner of Pastieland. But I think it'll be a bit out of our depth to get a whole vehicle to the Falklands.
Try posting in the holidays fred, someone may be able to take it with their hand luggage.

buy one from paddocks in bits, they only charge a fiver fer delivery for any size load( well they do to here) then assemby when it get there.

I've been thinking about this, get a price for just shipping the Land Rover, and also get a price for a 20' container, depending how much stuff you are taking with you, you can put the Land Rover in the container and they put all your personal stuff in it and around it, a cheap way of moving. If you just ship the Land Rover you will have to take it to either London or Shoreham (I think!!), but if you get a 20' container they will bring the container to you to load, and you should be able to find a company nearby with a ramp so you can drive it in.The export customs will sound complicated, but it isn't, any problems let me know.
