I'm looking to replace the v8 rad as its fooked AND I don't like the fact its wider than the roll cage its mounted on. do you know the width of the d2 v8 one?

I think its 594 x 439 x 40 mm but theres various versions

The Saab one is 685 or 27" but its super slim at only an inch thick

Well the D2 rad can keep the 4.0L beast cool so I'd think the Saab one should do, it came off a turbo diesel, think it was a 50 plate so should hopefully be ok

Especially with fans on and some copper piping to aid cooling

Nah, with this super slim one it'll fit inside the slam panel if I do a little trimming so my plan is to use the rubber to connect it at the ends and then some copper pipe for as much as possible just to help out

Not got a heater matrix in there either so I'm thinking a tiny motorbike radiator on the bulkhead may be a good mod too just to help it even further but I'd think with it being a Saab radiator it should be ok for cooling as a single unit

Making up a swirl pot for the series now purely because it'll help it when greenlaning, not hard job to do just takes a day or so

A good cheat is to use a small 1L gas bottle, chop the top and re-weld it on with the correct fittings on it

Body cappings sorted out, fuel tank in, ECU wiring harness nicely taped up into a bunch to neaten the wiring up and 85% of the measurements taken for the rear tub as I've not decided if I want an internal slant on the passenger side or to make it a recess for the battery/storage

Hoping to have it looking like a landrover again next week as I'm bringing me stick welder and the rad over

Have you thought of using some black plastic conduit round the wiring?

It had some on it but I wasn't a fan

insulation tape does a good enough job keeping it neat

Will get it sorted somehow though, and reckon moving it forward an inch or two on the engine mounts may just give me a little more room to play with on the prop side.

Think I may be able to get away with mounting a new rad inside the slam panel in order to save space too but gonna see what it measures up at once I've got everything in place

hi doc just been reading your fred you probably sorted the prop now but what about adapting hd cv joints instead of uj with a centre bearing to support prorp i have seen them on tractor units with high lift air suspension??? just a thought

Hadn't thought of using CV's but the prop hasn't been made up yet just got measurements sorted and the guys waiting for a go ahead from me. Would be an arse to fit though I reckon

anything is possible lol if u fab a xmeber to mount the rubber mount to iirc bedford cf
had them and the older transits you could cut the prop weld a cv joint in an even leave uj on diff end may be a biactch to balance the prop after but in theory super wide angle
