Sedimented bypass

Found the banging. Sedimented bracket broken and hanging on fuel pipes.
Decided the easiest thing would be too bypass it.
One of the gland nuts refused to undo so after 3 hours I took the hack saw to it.
It doesn't seem to want to seal up now with 8mm hose.
Is there a way of joining the rigid plastic fuel pipes if I cut the plastic elbows off?

Don’t understand why you would remove a part of the fuel system that helps to keep your fuel clean,
I would have brought another bracket,
Years ago I accidentally poured a complete can of Radiator sealant into my Discovery because it was the same purple colour of the diesel injection cleaner :mad: Luckily for me the sedimentor caught all the crap before it got to the filter and injection pump,

That was a spot of luck.
It was speed mainly as I needed the car.
Also, I have the same year defender and that doesn't have one? So I thought I'd do without it.
