Scrapping Disco, is it worth taking Cat off and scrapping seperatly?

My M reg Disco is going to the great scrapyard in the sky.....

Is it worth taking the Cat off and weighing it in seperatly? Any idea how much its worth scrap??

Yes. Contains gold so worth a little more apparently. There is a thread about scrapping a vehicle. There's money to be made far above the scrap value.

You don't say if its a V8 or a doizil?
If its a doizil then it ain't a cat, its a DPF which hasn't got gold in it, but some numpties still will give a lot more than its worth.

Gotta be worth a try .

Its a diesel, will take it off and see what happens! Shame its all going to the scrappy really, its got a sweet 300tdi in it but I havnt got the time or space to break it!

Don't bin the engine! If you don't have time now get it on eBay and someone will use the engine to rescue another landy!

Have just listed it on Ebay, would love the engine to help keep another one on the road!

If you were closer I'd probably have taken it tbh but Cornwall is a good 7 hour drive for me!

Engine will make a £450 return with rad and extras on it. Can you not get a friend to store it or help remove ? Just a few bolts and pipes really then lift out with a hoist

Just look thru the completed listing option on ebay. Loads finished for £450 and upwards one even finished at £750 BIN. But all in red so non sellers. Only ones in green, are around the £300 mark.

Didn't bumps sell for £450 ? Coulda sworn it did with all the extras, rad and cooler

with rad and cooler + alt etc etc maybe.

Well, mine didnt sell! Started the bidding at £200 and no one bid so shes off to the scrappy!

relist it at 99p 3day listing and get somoone to bid it up for you

Shred it yourself.
