Sat Nav

Hi all,
a couple of questions if you dont mind. I have a 2000 model p38 fitted with sat nav. The buttons to the left of the screen all illuminate green when the 'on' button is pressed. The screen however remains black with no signs of flickering.

1/Does the screen fail to cause this or could this be the computer?

2/Is the system good enough to warrant the money on the replacement parts? Even ebay parts seem pricey.

From experience a screen lighting up with no display is the navi computer in the boot is dead or missing (as it was in a friends 2001 vogue).

He bought a second hand unit on ebay for £300 or so with a warranty apparently refurbed etc and its been spot on since. Its quite a simple system but works well enough, won't take full postcodes etc but the map disks can be updated and its nice to have the car working as designed!

Quavey is spot on. mine was like that when i got it.. new sat nav computer in the boot. all done . check the plug connections first though
