Hi all,

got myself a RRS 2.7 HSE 2006, but there’s no stereo or upper Sat nav screen!

so I got myself the OEM Satnav upper screen and the original 6cd stereo and wanted to set them all up.

linked everything together, stereo powers up and the Sat nav screen show the LR logo but nothing else..

thoughts and assistance greatly appreciated..

cheers H

Hi

that’s bizarre it’s not there , would u mind sharing the reg number plse, can do it by private mesage if u wish , i can check the spec for u

will then know what u need to do

there’s a private plate on it now.. GH05 THG does that help???

many thks as that’s better , alas looks like the private plate isn’t registered as it’s not coming up on any searches

so if it’s an HSE it should have the following , if not someone may have put an HSE badge on

AM/FM in glove compartment-CD , CD-controller stereo
Harman/kardon premium brand stereo system

May i ask please did u also fit all the MOST cables and have diagnostics to update all the software please

just thought , are ur front seats fully electric , heated and cooled please as that is also a very good indication what model u have , does it also specify on the V5 it’s an HSE please

If it’s a base model it can’t be updated without a lot of work, unfortunately after a lot of searching couldn’t find the exact model

just remembered , before u fitted the centre screen / radio, did u notice any orange cables please as that’s extremely important

lastly see ur rear upper wishbones had a MOT advisory , hope u don’t mind me asking but will u do themself plse as they arnt easy to change , bolts often need cutting off and there hardened steel

hope this helps a little

Hi,

right here’s (hopefully) the answers to your questions..

V5 confirms HSE.
Nothing in glovebox
2 sets orange cable present one for the satnav upper screen the other for the main stereo.
No DVD player evident in boot access cover drivers side.
Fully electric and Heated front seats not sure if they ‘cool’ though..
Harman Kardon sound system (NOT Logic 7)

I also own an IID BLUETOOTH DIAGNOSTIC TOOL..

Finally, I purchased the RRS from a good friend and remember seeing the upper screen fully operational along with the OEM stereo.. I contacted him and all he did was remove the stereo and the upper screen, got an amp bypass CNN lead and a steering wheel control adapter lead so he could install an aftermarket unit.. so essentially nothing else was removed or changed…

Hi Gary. Not sure who you're using to search but it's coming up on all of mine, including DVLA

Also remember when I installed the upper satnav/settings display there were 3 sort of Ariel connectors on the display unit in top right hand corner when looking form the rear.. but there was only 1 connector lead.. which one should it go in???

Anybody available to assist with this install?…

I could work things out if I had some pictures if the wiring link between the Sat nav and the main stereo..

Ok I think I’ve worked the wiring out… but upon power up I’m left with the ‘Land Rover’ splash screen so that’s where I am.. and need to find how to progress to getting it to show settings info and Sat nav info… all help thoughts and pointers very greatly appreciated…
