I hope this is in the correct section now, I was informed that I had posted in the wrong area!!
Hello all My name is Richard and I live on the edge of the Cotswold in a village called Minety, I have a 2013 Freelander 2 Anniversary model which is a great car, I have a problem that I saw was being discussed in 2022 but had no conclusion. For the second time my sat nav has the red line through the GPS box and thinks I am driving around Belgium. The first time this happened I checked all the odd cable plugs here and ther without success, this went on for a few weeks, I had it booked into my local Land Rover dealer to look at, but a few days before the due date it started working and worked for a couple of months with no issues, For the second time it has stopped working again, I have reset the sat nav to the default setting and changed the country setting to the UK but it is still stuck in Belgium.
On the previous post it was suggested to pull the fuse and refit it to see if that rebooted it, no mention of what fuse or what it was called, I have looked through the fuse chart and can find no reference to the sat nav,
Can someone help with this issue

I don't know about the issue, except it would need a suitable code reader to identify the issue. It's unlikely to be a fuse however.

Copied from the other thread:-
"The issue will be related to the GPS receiver or the coax cable between it & the nav. unit. Defaulting to Belgium suggests a control unit reset has been carried out."

it did not show any fault on code reader
It won't, loss of GPS signal is not a 'fault', it's expected behaviour when there is no signal received - open or short circuit to the receiver is a 'fault' and will set a code. I suggest getting a cheap GPS receiver with a Fakra connector and connecting that to the nav. module, if it picks up GPS data, then replace the vehicle antenna, if not, then the defect is likely in the nav. unit.

Thank you unfortunately I cannot get the link to work, I am not sure what or how to do this as I have no idea where or how to access the sat module

I have found one on eBay for £12+ and ordered a male to female lead in case, all I need now is to find out how to remove the satnav unit to plug it in, or get to the connection to the antenna on the rear roof to plug into the end of the lead to see if it is the lead or antenna

I have removed the front sat unit today after watching a YouTube video ready to plug the cheapo GPS unit in tomorrow, but trying to remove the inside roof lining to get to the antenna connection was a bit too much of a struggle so I gave up on that.

Remove the 'C' & 'D' pillar trims, it makes it easier to lower the headlining 'just enough'. At some point you're going to have to do it to test the coax or replace the GPS antenna - unless you stick the test one on the dash (in the corner is best if you have a heated screen).

Thank you How do I identify the C & D pillar trims?

It's the interior trims around the inside of the car, D pillar is the rearmost one that the liftgate closes on to, C pillar is the one that the rear doors latch on to, B pillar is the ones that the rear doors hinge onto and the front doors latch on to, A pillar is the one the windscreen is bonded to and the front doors hinge to.

Thanks I will look at that tomorrow

well I finally received the gps receiver today and took the front panel off which had the double din screen with it, but I could not see any GPS plug so I then removed the cd unit located under the display screen, with cables attached and again I could not identify the GPS plug, by this time it was getting dark so I stuck it back together just in case I need to use the car.
Searching on line does not bring up my type of unit, only ones with the radio controls under the display screen, mine has the radio controls on the screen with steering wheel controls.
Can anyone supply a wiring diagram image showing the GPS cable position

I thought you'd found the Nav unit? the GPS connector is a Fakra - which should look similar to this:-

I think yours should have the hard drive navigation module, it's possible it may have the earlier DVD based system, which had the navigation module & disc drive under the drivers seat - worth a look.

If you have the HDD version, then the GPS connector is the round blue one in this photo shamelessly copied from fleabay
