The time has come today whilst repairing a few holes in the rear arch. I have found this!!!

I knew there was a little rust on the body mounting but this is really bad now iv started to look into it. It is the final straw. Very enjoying after iv just replaced the rear crossmember 😥
So I think time has come to send it to the great big scrap yard in the sky.

If anyone is after any parts I will be breaking the car.

I might keep an eye out for a cheap v8 disco in better condition so I can swap my wheels and suspension over.

I think it's beyond repair the whole sill inner and outer has just crumbled once I started. And it's similar the other side. I'm gonna throw in the towel. If I put many more plates or repairs on it will weight about 5 tonne.

Like robint said, cut off sills replace with box. I've just done that to mine, I know it seems a daunting task but it really isn't that hard. Do a search, plenty of info around and parts easy to get. IMHO it is crazy to scrap a motor just because there is a bit of rust, these things are so easy to repair. Have a go, you've got nothing to lose.

I'm sorting this myself just now, but the full lengths. Depending on yer budget, have a look at YRM metals to see if you can get sorted. Inner sill is £40 with mounts attached, of course. Outer is £30 bucks with extension. My welder was well pleased and said most of the work will be snipping out old stuff.

ps, bush mounting kit is eight quid..

I'd go for it. Classics need to be kept on the road. :)
