Sorry Tigger, I realised I'd missed you out some hours ago - forgot to amend my earlier post

yu shud have told them that an X-T annd 2 hippoos made it yesterday;).

Yeah, us hippo's may be small in stature but we can give those slitty's a pointer or two :boink:

Can I just say thanks for all the positive comments from the boys n girls about how the hippo's peformed. I was more than pleasantly surprised myself quite few times on the run (especially when bottoming in the ruts without sticking) and had a HUGE grin going through the "puddles". To be honest, when I got to the Plain proper, the alzheimers kicked in and I thought it was 1992 and I was in a green ragtop defender  Glory days!

You Hippos did well, VERY well............. :praise:

Skynet.

The fact that the RAC's computer didn't show a fault with your freebie makes me think even more that your problem is the EGR valve. The computer is showing that the valve is being triggered but it aint moving properly.

Ratty mate, you are a star! Thats just made me feel a lot better... Thanks :D Now then, squirt, replace or blank the EGR?..... hmmmmm tinker with it first methinks ;) now where's me 'ammer?

MHM, Jaytee had a borrowed monitor if am not mistaken, I had a CB unit but no aerial for it..... roll on Xmas ;) Steve in the Blue Disco did some lovely trail blazing around the ruts tho

Boomer you are too kind (but well worth the fee) :D

Depends on how you feel. If you wanna stop it happening again then get a blanking kit fitted and take it off. If you want the cheap approach then take it off and clean it with carb cleaner and a small brush and some cloth. Depending on what it's like is to wether a tooth brush or small bottle cleaning type brush is best. if the valve itself seems to be a bit sticky then a quick squirt of WD40 should help. It will be full of thick gunky deposit ( a cross between marmite and coal dust).

I personaly take mine off and fit blanking kits. It's all down to choice.

Have a chat with Ming if you need to know more. He's more in touch with the freebies attributes. He has a thread in the freelander section on egr's.
