G850 Petrol Generator 850W - Machine Mart

Anybody know if this would run a 150w mig welder?
I thought I'd ask in here since most Land Rover owners are self taught welders too!
My mate just bought an old Anglia and needs to weld it. Trouble is his garage is in a block in a housing estate about 100 yards from his house. You can garuntee some little scrote will **** around if he runs a few extension leads to it.

Don't think a 2.2Kw is in my price range! haha

I've ran his mig off a 30m lead before and it seemed OK - it's not the best unit anyway so it probably doesn't pull full power much of the time....

Thanks guys, I'll save my money! (I was going to go havles with him....)

No I am thinking that there must be a better way.

Maybe one of those 350w inverters that run off the 12v lighter socket? hahaha

Probably just leave this as a lost cause!

I got 3 2.2 KVA genny in Makros last year to run a huge sound system in a forest/beach ect ect, £99 + VAT each, work great.

i used to have a petrol arc welder, all in one handy box, just drop it near yer work, fire it up, connect yer leads, weld away, quiet running , easy open arc weld, dint use much petrol, think yer can hire them fer bout £15 a day ;)
