hello there, I am seriously thinking about buying an ex-mod 2.5nad defender 90 from a company called rugged guide 4x4. They buy them from Withams etc and put them through a MOT and a service changing all the belts etc.. as well as applying waxoyl. Has anyone had any dealing with them and would you recommend them etc.

All feed back is helpful as it will be my first Landy

regards

Jim

I had an ex mil 90 2.5 n/a and totally loved it, but it was a fecking gutless engine (no exageration), and was pityful once I'd put big mud tyres on it.

If i had another one I'd deffo convert it to Tdi and drop a Discovery transfer box and Power steering to make a really sweet Landy. I'd seriously recommend you go for a test drive before you buy one. also with ex military stuff, i think you need to look at the condition far more closely than just relying on the age or mileage. hope this helps
