Hi folks any help would be much appreciated.. My RRC auto suddenly has no drive in hi ratio,, it drives fine in low ratio and in hi and low difflock.. There is a strange noise when I put it into park when in hi ratio , its like a grinding whining for about a second. My mate thinks it could be a broken diff or a broken drive shaft.. Both props are turning when drive selected in hi ratio. SOS please.

dont put in park in high,as you may bust park brake sprocket ,till its fixed, are you sure its selecting fully remove tunnel cover etc and have a look

if both props are turning and your stood still youve a loss of drive in both axles ,its common for one to spin till you engage diff lock at which point car has drive and so both turn

Check front diff, drive shafts and drive members on the hubs.....at a push check the CV joints.

Getting drive in Diff lock, means that the drive is being done by the rear only.....as it locks the two props together.....when disengaged, the path of less resistance is the front drive train.

A thought - which may be wrong so I stand to be corrected.
Engine off, engage park and centre difflock - I'm assuming by the year you have the LT230 transfer box.
Jack up one front wheel in turn & try to turn them by hand. Other than taking up the slack in the drive train I would expect the wheel to stop & not be able to be turned. If it does - & assuming the diff hasn't gone bang - then it would suggest the issue is with that side.
