Hi chaps, mate asked if i could help. His mate just out of hospital after five months (bad infection) and his Khan is dead as a Dodo.

He was told to connect a wire to the indicator repeater + to get enough power to unlock the doors

I told him NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Although, I rather think the sidelights would possibly work. However, the "only" possible connector to a sidelamp would be through the number plate lights. Is this more feasible?

My thoughts were to go under, remove the tray and connect a + jump lead to the solenoid (the correct side of course) and earth to the chassis.

Who thinks what and why?

;)

I wouldn't think the light route would not work, in the p38 all lighting goes through the becm and I assume we are talking L322 which is an even more complicated beast and have heard LCM (light control module) mentioned a few times,
I think your right in trying from under, but if its possible to get at the right place god only knows, tow bar electrics was my first thought but depends on relays so may be a no go.

It's a 2007 as far as I know. I'll be having a look at it tonight see if it has an undertray (I only need to know in case she's on her arse and I need a jack).

I would have thought they would have had a plastic cover on the passenger (or driver) door lock as in most sensible cars!! o_O

On the L322 you cannot get to the alternator, even from underneath. We've been here before. I'd have thought a permanent live to the tow-bar electrics would be favourite but got a feeling the L322 makes even that simple operation overly complicated. Cannot remember what the answer was last time but @Saint.V8 will.

It has a key and is not opening so looks like superlocked or whatever. He's convinced we can connect to the indicator repeater so at his behest we're trying this tomorrow. I will let you know how we get on.

Me? I plan to buy these and fit them (primarily for jump starting others, but in case I need a jump without having to open the bonnet....) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ANDERSON-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649

Anyone know the wire colours as in which is + and - ?

got a black wire and grey/brown trace...

Can you not check with a voltage tester against a good earth point somewhere?

Evenin all....

Job done :)

I connected the wires after finding a wiring diagram on here. I used Scotchloks to connect to the fog lamp and connected the other end to my bike battery (Suzuki) the lamp lit up, the alarm started beeping and I tried the plip, which was a no go, so then put the key in the door and turned it to open! Et voila

I think the bulb lighting up may have taken any surge away so it was all good.
