Hi Guys, Could you give me an idea what RPM I should be reading in a '95 N 300TDI auto Disco. I've recently repaired the broken wire for the rev counter on my new disco and now it works should I be reading just under 3000RPM @ 70 MPH?

Cheers, Mike

p.s it has standard size disco alloys and tyres.

Thanks Guys, I just thought it seemed a touch hi thats all and was hoping there wasn't a gearbox problem lol.

Checking the speed with the sat nav is a good idea and on most car that I've tried it there seems to be a 3 to 5 mph diffrence(satnav says 70, speedo says 73 to 75 ish).

That sounds a bit high to me, I have a '98 Tdi300 auto and iirc 70mph is about 2500rpm.
