no its not for comps im aware of the msa regs etc and no it would be very strong at the moment im going to brace it but im unsure thats why im asking i was thinking of bracing it diagonal on the sides then maybe 4 times on the roof and im extending it to follow the window pillar at the front and down to the rock slider

when me and a mate made one for the challenge truck we made a rear hoop with cross brace that mounted to the top of the chassis reinforced with 8mm plate and the rear stays went to the back of the chassis just before the rear cross member mounted on top of the chassis reinforced with 8mm plate.

you really want to mount it to the chassis not rock sliders, and the hoops want to be made from one bit of tube not several bits joined.

unfortuntaly by design your one will be weak if you follow msa regs the shape, design and material specs with 6mm plate to chassis as designed you cant go far wrong.

where can i find the latest regs chances are i will never need the roll cage its mainly for show so it doesnt need to be super strong

Does anyone know where to get these fittings, where the tube joins with the two bolts ? bottom lrft of picture

Actually I think MSA regs ask for 3mm but ALRC require 6mm so its better to go to ALRC club regs so you can do all the comps well thats my thinking!

Erm Dunno could ask Whitbread if they will sell you any unfinished ones. Them cages again are probably not legal as most need to be certified and most full external cages do not pass or have never been tested to comply with regs.

Roll cage built to spec can withstand this: @1.47minutes

like i say i dont compete or anything and dont intend on rolling the land rover lol but if i left it as it was but braced it well and maybe added a x section comin from the top through the roof throught the floor then have that fixed directly to the chassis that would be ok

Lol I think any design other than approved ones would make it more dangerous I think having a tube seperate would not be favourable
