roll cage?

i had a look at the regs and they seem to bolt the cage to the outriggers so this wouldnt be much different to bolting it to the rock sliders right? the rock sliders are secure i have checked them as i have just fitted a new outrigger lately

The difference is the out riggers are plated with 6mm all the way and have spreader plates at the chassis its seriously beefed up and the puny tube outriggers especially pattern parts are not that strong. Also you are bolting on the furthest point from tha chassis which is not supported. The rear hoop is not one piece and is likley to break up also it has no rear stays Triangulation is what makes a cage strong. Go ahead but If I was going to the effort of building a cage I would want it for comps so I'm not limited and also People when they look at your mota they think yes its done right or just another external pretend cage.

check out whitbread offroad they do a weld in kit about £400 notes pretty reasonable tbh

i think i might be leaving it now im looking at buying a discovery now plus i can get the steel for £24 for 6.5m and have access to a pipe bender so if i got hold of some good drawings i could make the kit up myself

personly id say your going to get real problems with the tubes going verticaly down the body i know the rock sliders are a very temptiing place to mount them but your gona get hooked up on them all the time on rocks and trees
you wud be beter bringing them down to the mid way point and then puting a plate on the inside of the body and traveling the rest of the way down on the inside of the cab
as for building it to regs yes its a good point to get some ideas but no point if your only useing at pay and play

yeh well i think my friends interested in the cage as he doesnt do any laning or pay and plays he just uses his as a daily driver so i think im going build and internal one in the back and fasten directly to the chassis
