Hi Guys,

Long time reader first time poster...yada yada yada. Hello all :D

So....I'll soon be on my third landy (300TDI RRC) after having had a Series III 109 and a 300TDI Disco. The plans for the RRC are a bit more comprehensive though now that I've learnt a bit of these beasts.

I'm planning to work my way on the RRC so I can use it for camping /softcore overlanding, see how it suits me and then maybe make some more serious plans.

Anyway something that's occured to me is that I don't believe I've come across any blogs/posts/reports of anybody taking pets on overland trips?

I'm planning to start making some trips and was wondering is there any reason I couldn't bring the dog (he's only a little fella) with me? I can see how certain dogs wouldn't be suitable to certain climates (dont bring your St. Bernard to Morocco in summer) but as (initially) I'm planning to stick in Europe I don't see why I couldn't bring him. He's good in the car (no puking) and I could get harnass to stop him from flying around.

Does anybody have any experiences (good or bad) in bringing their dog(s)?

thanks

Legally no problem to take your dogs all around Europe, Morocco is outside the pet passport zone, so if they(customs) knew you had taken your dog to Morocco, you would have a 6 month quarantine coming back.

I know a guy who took his dog with him to Morocco in a Unimog, and he just left it in the back when they went through the border crossing and no one looked. The border guards are quite dopey, and they quite like dogs in Morocco, so it's questionable if they would even know or care about pet passport.

Pratically I guess it depends on the dog, my dogs need a good run each day, and trying to find a spot for that when you on the road in strange country could be a right ballache...
