Hi
My freelanders reversing lights have decided not to work, any ideas where I should look first?

Boring.LZ for advice?
spoilsport.Boring.
Fuses (under the steering wheel) is probably the easiest (first?) thing.
Bulb - but that'll take a screw driver I believe.
Reverse switch - will need to get oily probably putting a multimeter across the contacts - or maybe across the relevant fuse to earth?
The Rave workshop manual will show a wiring diagram for the bits involved and say which fuse the light is on. Info on downloading a copy here....

Auto. When selecting any gear a corresponding light comes on but not when reverse is selected.Manual or auto gearbox?
It's not a revers light switch then. Does the dash show R when reverse is selected?Auto. When selecting any gear a corresponding light comes on but not when reverse is selected.

has the gearbox oil been topped up or changed recently?Hi Nodge68,
If moving from P to R, P stays on dash, if moving from N to R, N stays on dash.

does it go backwards? Not as far as I know, I only bought it a couple of weeks ago. All gears select perfect and the gear change is very smooth.
The gearbox selector cable needs adjustment by the sounds of it.
Perfectly and forwardsdoes it go backwards?
That's correct, all I'm really concerned about is I have no reversing lights.so it works, just doent show you its working?
