Is it auto or manual? On early manual 'boxes the switch is located underneath the gearbox, on later manuals it is located at the top of the box on the passenger side- if you jack up the front and lie under the near side front wheel and look through the gap by the anti-roll bar and engine tray you will see it near to a re-enforced bracket type bit of the box. It is the only switch there and has a wire running up to under the under bonnet fuse box. It is most likely the earlier type, but the engine under tray will need to be removed to gain access.
Never done an auto so not sure about the location there, sorry.

Hi

Thanks for your replies,

it is a manual petrol freelander.

We only got it just about three weeks ago and have just realised the reversing lights are not working, when the otherhalf saw me reversing into a space and realised they were not working!

thankyou for your replies.

I may be back!!
