reseting speedo td5

hi all,
i have just had to replace my speedo head as the led,s had given up which i have now got them all back. but the mileage is flashing how do i get that reset to my original mileage. and stop it flashing

Dealer job I'm afraid - or someone who knows about mileage correction.

Had the same problem say 8 years ago. Changed the instrument cluster and odometer would not increase - the flashing was there too. I drove for about 6 months until I could afford to get it put right. The BECM had been calculating the 'real' milage and so after a visit to the dealer I had about 8,000 extra miles (that I had really driven) added to my odometer.

yes, both the speedo head and the Body control computer store the mileage, if they are out of sync, it will flash!
It's a Dealer Job to get it reset!!!

Have you still got this problem with your disco...?

yes have not gone to stealer yet have got some other issues to sort with it first why??
