This should be the easiest of tasks - replacing the glass in a Freelander door mirror. Shouldn't it?
The old broken glass pad hooked out easily enough, I took out the centre ring from the old and replaced it in the new but no matter how I try I cannot get the replacement mirror to clip back in position. I do not want to exert too much force for fear of breaking the new glass.
So, is there a technique I haven't stumbled across that will help me?
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Just spray the holding lugs in the casing with WD40, line up the clips on the back of the mirror with the lugs and push with four fingers lined up with the clips. Hey presto, job done. Magic WD40 comes in useful again!
