My passenger door has never unlocked when using the fob or key in driver's door. Strangely though, using the knob inside works the central locking.

Anyway, replaced the latch today but it still doesn't work. I suppose the replacement latch could also be faulty? If not, any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

I'm not sure about this so someone will probably put me right but try swopping out stations from one side to other , I think it's the out stations that tell the locks to unlock so if the one in the passenger door ain't working it won't tell the door to unlock ( if you know what I mean )

Door outstation, wiring to/from the latch unit, wiring to/from the Outstation....

The wiring going through the A pillar to the door has been known to fail too
Jinx...:D:D:D

I did check all the connectors, etc in the door. I'll try the outstation next.

Ok, so checked fuses, swapped outstation from driver side, checked wiring in door, in rubber sleeve that goes from the door to the body plus the wiring under the kickplate. No signs of split/broken wires. Which leads me to believe that the cheap second hand replacement latch I got off ebay also has a burnt out motor. Is there anything I can do to check this? Thanks

No other suggestions?

Does anyone know which colour wires I need to check from the outstation to the latch? I want to put a multimeter on them to see if any voltage is getting through, that will rule out faulty wiring, etc

Depending on the age of the car the colours changed one thing do you get the same fault with both door latches? ie can yu use the central locking from the push down button on either latch the fact that it works with one means that the outstation i good and the wiring from the microswitches but prob not the input from the switch to the motor take the old latch out and open it up and you can operate the switches manually
Its a start
