the main problem is caused by............. :1 , poorly mounted exhaust.2, no exhaust brackets]. 3 leaking exhaust. 4 , LACK OF USE. when was the last time you ran it for more than 5 minutes?. 6, the selectors may be seized in those ally condoms off the box, and 7, if you fitted a drivers door, you could take it for a ride. and your runny nose may have corroded the gear linkage.

who may have your cold!
and your grill is wonky!!!!!!!!!!!

oh dear well as we are using my thread as a messenger then i will say that my cold is very bad and surely my snot has got too be a good lubricator as i eat a lot of oil while i am under your land rover!!

Seems like you'r stuck in 4WD low range. Was the vehicle in 4WD high range before you pulled the red lever back.?If so it seems the yellow button has not popped up.,thus preventig you from selecting high range 2WD.Take the floor panel up and try the old kettle of hot water trick on the front of the selector rod housing .You'll also see the yellow button
mechanism and the locking pin.The only possible causes I can think of are:1)Selector rod spring broken .( Yellow button job. )
2)Selector shaft sticking in bores
3)Selector shaft spring broken
If the yellow button is stuck down try and release it .Its difficult to say exactly what without seeing it,but I do beleive a bit a cleanup and lubrication and check the locking pin operation and lf nothing is broken it should be okay.Hope this has been of some use,as it's what I did when I had the same problem and that was years ago.

take the red knob off and put a lump hammer to it buuuuuut only tap it dont wack it or youll brake the transfer tap on top then wack it to the up and down dont wack wack it just a bit of a hit then once freed use it once a day so it dont lock up ok

good luck series 3 sweet 16
