2001 range rover p38 auto gear dox issues

hi i've got a problem with my 2001 range rover p38 2,5 dse auto box went for a drive every thing was fine stopped for a coffee got into the car to drive home the lights on the gear were showing 1st when in drive ;D; when in 3rd light showing 2nd it seems to start in a high gear and will not change will go in to reverse but doesn't light up will light up in park ;p; also wont go in to low box thanks steve

XYZ switch knackered or cable way out of adjustment?

Or xyz switch dirty.. run it thru P-1 and back a few times with the ignition off then try again
If you don't get the gear position in the dash then you'll need to clear faults
