reconditioned IRD and VCU?

A little advice for everyone, If you have used a credit card to pay for this service contact your card provider and ask to do a charge back!!! It is free and you will get your money back, as for debit cards I am not 100% what the score is with charge backs but is worth asking your bank where you stand as you may also be able to do a charge back.

Just for info
I have their bushiness card in front of me,and he did say i could give his details out to potential customers, so for potential customers,Sue has number 0780 9575 421
Norbert the main man (he is not a land rover engineer he is self taught)has mobile 0788 9936364 Email [email protected].
I have bought a few bits of them but would not have my car repaired there.

Just stumbled upon this website, and its probably been posted a million times before, but I'm doing it again cos I'm a ****te
Can I have some people's opinions please, as Ive removed my prop and vc, at 76k for peace of mind, but the snow is hitting hard, and I'm contemplating putting it back on as I dont have the money at the moment for a Bells special and I travel with my young children in the car, god forbid anything happening whilst in mondo.
It does seem to brake in reversing lock, but forward lock is negligible.
Freelander - SLIGHT BRAKING EFFECT WHEN ON FULL LOCK - Land Rover

I have posted this in another VCU thread too.

Reet El Pricko, you search for it, and let me know when you find it, as I've spent the last half hour looking. And I can barely keep my eyes open.zzzzzzzzz

el pricko, who the #### are you?

it is a normal effect of the drivetrain of the freelander and poses no threat to the safety of anyone.

it's what the car does.

i suggest you go to bed and get yer sloppy gob shut ;)

My concern for safety is that of my children, and having to drive them in this treacherous weather.
And calm down with the attitude mate, I thought we were having a laugh, like we did last week, when you were asking about my chrome bulbs. Or you tickling my pickle, I can't tell sometimes.

no attitude from this call sign

i ferry my three around in mine and can assure you that this is not a concern for any of us. Read the bulletin you posted ;)

i've been here for some time and had my FL for a couple of years. most subjects on every aspect have been covered so i (and others) get the banter out when anyone posts "summat new" :D

Hold up..... Is this just me being a divvy, or is it classified as normal in this case, for the box wind up, to shred the IRD and rear diff?

Is this LR's ploy to earn more money? Is it a myth from engineers, to make money. Every 4x4 Ive driven in AWD, suffers from full lock wind up. Is this just promoting a specified weakness in a freelanders parts?
Does that make sense?

you are misunderstanding exactly what's happening in this case.

this effect does not harm the drivetrain it is just a normal affect of the drivetrain.

I understand that, but ive read so many times on here, on various mechanical engineering websites and else where, that the mentioned wind up could be due to be VCU failing, and then leading to possible failure of other components. Or have I lost the plot :confused:

Who refurbished to VCU? What silicone solution used (please link to purchase). There is need to buy other products?

Thank you!

Just been to see austin at bell engineering for a vcu and bearing fitting what a bugger it was to split. But fair play austin got the better of it!!! Great service and a cuppa would recomend them if you need a vcu in the future thanks chaps

what a bugger it was to split.

You're telling me!!! I've removed mine ready to send to Bell Engineering for testing and possible replacement. The rear prop came off easily but the front just refused to budge from the splines until a couple of hours of soaking with WD40 and some 'gentle' taps with a cold chisel and club hammer!

Hello bud I had a gut feeling mine was going to be a pig of a job!! Austin is about 30 miles away so it was well worth the trip saved me smashing it to bits!
