Paul c fitted one . So it must fit.If you do a little mod to the battery clamp, you can fit in a type 334/250. £74.99, 90AH, 800CCA.
Beware of comparing MCA with CCA - they are not the same thing!

It will be either an 069 or an 072, depending on terminal orientation.
Will it fit ?... 306mm would be to long for my disco. oil cooler pipes are in the way.
I measured it up too, and thought it would be a really tight fit. In fact, there was plenty of space to spare, so fitting was easy. I don't know if the oil cooler pipes are in a different place on an auto than a manual (which I have), though. I doubt if they are.
Mine's manual too.. the right hand pos lead would reach fine but the neg lead which is earthed to body is a good 2 ins short..

did you get yours from alpha?
Did you order a 334?
Did they send a 334?
Are the terminals the same position on the battery, as your old one? (ie not swapped round)?
The terminals will be wider apart, because the battery is bigger. Its only a couple of inches though. I was able to make the terminals fit (with no issues), there was enough slack in the terminal leads for a couple of inches of movement, etc.
You have fitted the battery the wrong way round. If you did manage to stretch the terminals, you'd have connected the + to - and - to +!!!
Lift the battery out, turn it through 180°, drop it back in.
Red is +
