Hi all was just wonderin if anybody has dealt with rebel before. My dad orderd a steering gaurd and bumperettes from them on the 11th and they havent arrived yet. Every time he phones them he can never get through its always on engaged. Its been 9 days now is this usual for them

Thanks for the quick reply. 9 days is a bit long i think. We are up in the scottish borders but that shouldnt be a problem. The only thing i can think of for taking so long is they have been busy at billing

9 days is while. Last time I used them it took about 4 days. I've always found the service has been very good, it could well be the Billing factor

They will probably come up with some excuse that "the shows were on so your order was delayed", and now they won't have any stock in.

I (tried to) use them once, for a snorkel part. the woman was very arsey on the phone, so i bought the parts from elsewhere.

I ordered some stuff last week and was surprised not even to have had a response to my follow-up email so I phoned them this morning.
The lady on the phone was pleasant enough and explained that they have been out running their show stand at Billing and that all orders and communications will have been delayed as a result of this.

Now that is fair enough - I understand how these small businesses work because my folks have been running one or other flavour of them for years - but they should at least have the courtesy of putting a banner message on their website to advise that orders will be delayed so you can actively choose to wait and not get wound up by it. Surely that will save them from lots of emails and phone calls from people wondering where there stuff is!

Anyway, I'm waiting patiently and hope that my stuff is delivered by the weekend when I can fit it.

In fairness, I'd sooner have a bit of a wait for the bits I've ordered rather than pay the prices that I've seen similar kit offered for elsewhere.

I managed to get through this morning too. Got a young sounding lass who was helpful and explained they where behind on orders. A call or email would have been a big help my dad was beginning to think they had gon out of business or something. She says should be coming in a few days.

Sounds like D44 when i enquired about my ARB bumper... So i gave my money to TBR who got one to my door from Germany within 5 days of phoning them :)

G

mmmm good old devon..
my mate orderd some simex from them and they assured him they would take no longer than 3 days so he paid the dosh and in the end it took 17 days, what they done was waited for other people to order and when they had enough to secure them a better discount they place the order with there suppliers.and you dont get the saving they do.

Bunch of lying ripping off overcharging arrogant ****ers. They make scrapiron Racing look like decent traders. & they've gone bankrupt!! Think I might start a lets all boycott Devon4x4 Campaign..

What forum did they sumliminaly run?

I bought my A bar from Rebel 4x4.... took 8 or 9 days to arrive and it was wrapped like a feckin Mummy in cardboard and about 3 rolls of parcel tape (no doubt done by a bored student:5bwilly_nilly:)... it was like doin open heart surgery to unpack it without damaging it. I also emailed them after a week and got no reply. So the student knows how to delete mail as well as play pass the parcel and win!
But, it was a fair price and a good fit.
Like anyone else.... if I order stuff I want it in 3 or 4 days coz it is always urgent.

I have had plenty from rebel over the years and can only say they are like most other companies these days SLOW.

BUT their products are extremely well made with top class welds and fit first time every time. I had a set of their rock sliders fitted to my disco 200 and got hit in the side by a foreign lorry driver when he realised he had missed his turn on a dual carriageway at 40mph. His wheel climbed up the side of the door and the wheel nuts took a fair old chunk out of the skin but that was all the damage. I was 7 up at the time and althought everbody in the disco developed brown trousers none of us were hurt. The driver came round to us expecting blood and guts everywhere but we were OK.

Within a few mins the old bill, fire service and ambulance service arrived and were all amazed at the strength of the rock sliders.

Quality is worth waiting for gents.

As far as Devon (weve taken scrap irons place) is concearned WTF???
How can they justify what they charge for kit thats half their price elsewhere?

Pure arrogance I say and one to boycott for sure!

6 right here. I could never afford 'em anyway!

Plus, once I ordered an extreme hi-lift jack off them (I have a penchant for shiny things), it came the next day, fair play. But it wasn't an extreme. 4 weeks later I was still stuck with the normal hi-lift jack. Eventually threatened to report them to trading standards, so they refunded my money, and said they'd send me another jack, and since they could do nothing with the one I had (out of packaging etc) they'd let me do what I wanted with it.

Sound too good to be true? It was, they refunded the money, never sent another jack. So fair enough, I got a free jack, but its not the one I wanted.
