Rear window needs to relearn?

a local mechanic has been working on the rear window will go down but will not go up. He suggested I take it to the dealership and ask if they can perform the "relearn" function on the computer

Anyone familiar with this "relearning"?
 
Have you tried disconnecting the battery? When reconnected the window should go all the way down, then you hold the button down until it is back up and job done.
Unless of course you have a duff cable, or latch. ;)

After posting this thread I did come across some threads that had very complicated instructions on how to recalibrate the window. It sounded like this has been attempted.

If the window isn't going up using the switch, then it has a fault. The window calibration can only be carried out if it goes up using the inside switch. There's no "relearn" that LR can do, other than the recalibrate procedure shown in the owner's manual.
