rear recovery point

yeah, yeah, yeah, do a search! i know!

seeing as i don't have holes for jate rings i need something.

i have to keep my towbar so which do i get?

a. recovery point like this

i know its the obvious answer, but £30 a fair bit of money for me right now o was looking for cheaper options if possible

I have similar to JP except the Ball and pin is a one piece item. If you go for ball & pin. DO NOT get the one where the pin goes thru the Towing ball.

thought jate rings were available for tow bar fitted vehicles? sure I saw an option on my travels

Don't get the recovery ring. get a nato hitch 100 times stronger and fits to crossmember. so you can keep tow bar

i have just taken off a complete adjustable towbar of me 90 and that has a ball and pin hitch on it..
would it be any good to ya?

pin bends, but when free-hard to refuse

with regards to jate rings, mines had the holes welded up and brackets fitted instead so jate rings are a no go....

the recovery ring was just fairly minimal and keeps well away from the tow hitch. cheap too. natos are too much for me i'm afraid

your putting a lot of faith and possibly your life into a bent bit of rod and someones welding skills. With one of those recovery rings though!! :blabla:

True i spose, mines tugged some crap on the pin and its not bent yet!

looks like he's selling x-eng copied anchors as well

landrover, suzuki, toyota, off road 4x4 winch anchor on eBay (end time 19-Mar-10 23:09:27 GMT)

and shackles tht are 'great for off roading' as long as you don't mind using, untested, unrated shackles!!

bow shackle, 4x4, boat, etc,off roading strap, recovery on eBay (end time 26-Apr-10 23:22:56 BST)

5Ton tested shackles are only £3 also!!

that shackle looks like its made of toffee! i had one like that i was given, i'll be fooked if i would use one again! one use and it was all bent out of shape i had to use a pair of mole grips to undo it as the pin had bent as it had taken the strain (recovering a bobtail disco from boggy sand)

i now get me pukka tested lifting shackles from me local landrover parts bloke (gratec in maldon) as his are good kit!
