I am probably asking a dumb question but here goes anyway:-

The previous owner of my 2000 Disco 2 TD5 stuck the rear number plate
on with some kind of tape and it has now fallen off, surprise
surprise! I want to refit it properly but can't see any points to fix
it to. Behind the plate are two black taped circles and slightly above
them two holes (see pic), do I need a proper Landrover fixing or is there an
easy way to do this?

Thanks

I fitted my number plate on the back of my caravan with blobs of silicone sealant.

Took some twisting and pulling to remove it, so I'd recommend it, if you don't want to drill holes.

Yeah sticky pads or padded double-sided sticky tape, but use more than a few strips. I covered about 70% of the area of the number plate with them, and its still there front & rear, despite the car being driven through lakes, etc.

Get rid of all that old ****, clean both surfaces with sumthin solvent/spirit based, use double sided number plate tape and it will never move.

Oh and give your Disco a wash FFS..:p

the taped over holes will take some form of clip that will accept a self tapping screw.

probably for use in other markets as landrover dealers will stick rear plates on generally.

problem solved already i see, but i just hope you removed all the old tape before resticking. im pretty anal about numberplate fixings - i dont like to stick the plate over a load of ****e underneath!
