Hey guys! Not been on here a while but started back on my 90!

I'm putting a new rear cross member on the 90 am wondering if anyone had done this with the body off.

My plan is to build a jig/brace with angle iron then cut old member off!

Any ideas?

Cheers

Yes, make yourself a temporary frame and line it up via the holes on the little tabs on the crossmember. I think there are some pictures of people doing this in various places - I believe some of Pikey's adventures in welding show this, for example.

Yep, did this when replaced mine

+1. Tack Weld 2x1 box across the top of each spring locator bracket front to back and to that, weld some angle across the crossmember brackets. Drill through holes into angle using crossmember brackets as guide. Think i have photos on my rebuild thread.

cheers guys! where is best to put axle stands to make sure the body is level? also are the rear body supports supposed to be level? someone has put a cross member on here (not very well) and i did notice the the rear left support was not supporting the body before i took it off!
