who wud buy a 2nd hand VCU, unless yu aint got one at all?

That's just it, if you knew what you were looking for you might find a good one, and lots of people don't even have props :). Still no match for a proper recon one but you might get lucky.

it costs about £200+ to recondition an ird properly!

As above, they aren't recons just salvage ;). Again, you might get luck if you know what you're looking for :). The IRD is much easier than the gearbox to dismount. Wouldn't reccomend tis for newbies though ! I don't even think I know what a fecked IRD feels/sounds like - so if I bought one of these I guess no noises or bangs would be good news :D! Thankfully my IRD seems to be fine, somehow it escaped the previous string of owners unscathed.

They are a treasure trove though, and very straight up about what they're selling. Decent guys.

Defo a cheap way of acquiring a prop even if it does need reconditioning!!

you never know what you're buying just by the feel of it off the car tbh.

you may get lucky :)

a used prop could be the same, but if you don't have one at all it is a good starting point, I suppose ;)
