Hi Kelly

Its being a long time since you ve done a brilliant job, I just want to ask you if you remember that I am planing to upgrade my lights on my p38 like you did and is it posible to do myself or do I have to involve someone from garage, also if you can could you explain how did you do it? thanks in advance

George

Must admit, I love the look of the conversion, but dont fancy doing it or shelling out a load , so for the mo will leave mine alone. Bout time some aftermarket company thought of doing an upgrade that bolts straight in, they would make a fortune.

I did this conversion with overfinch parts, headlamps grill bumper spots and side vents,
Fleabay £300 , took a full weekend to fit ,+ having to fit led side repeators where the overfinch bumper dosent match the wings but it has worked out a treat ,
Had to work out the wiring myself no one could be specific and wasent going to pay £90 for a pair of plastic plugs from fleabay ,and yes there was a lot of cutting involved to fit i

I'm in the market for something at the moment and a p38 has come up locally for fairly cheap its a 2.5td manual with cloth interior taxd and tested and he's asking for 1295 however hes been trying to sell for a wbile so thinking of going in and offering a cheeky 900 ....
It's gun metal grey with 19" l322 alloys on...if i was going to do conversion is do front, back and a leather interior...
Has anyone done a start to finish guide? And is it worth it? I reckon all done and painted it'll stand me at about 2k

Take off the cost of a new clutch, dmf, wheel bearings, cooling system, eas fixes, tyres, fuel injection pump, diffs, pumps and all the other stuff you do as a new owner.... You might just about get into a four figure loss.

Age old argument but which is worth more...an unmolested classic back in its original condition or a modified off road classic?

if you really want it to look like a L322 why wouldnt you just buy an L322 in the first place ?

its like polishing a turd !

the P38 doesnt look right with L322 parts on it ! LOL

Even the L322 doesn't look right with it's own parts, the lights look like the boy racer aftermarket stuff sold for Peugeot 206's over here:p

Someone's nicked your foglights!!:D
lol, just googled and found this thread. was what i'd like. i have a garage to do all the spanner work for jobs like that. i earn money and throw it at him lol. paying off a really nice 4.6 vogue at moment may get him to do this job for me.
how much did the lights cost?

great job by the way, personally i'll get mine colourcoded to the car but good job.

Great idea! Might as well bung it on springs at the same time in case the EAS ever starts acting up. BTW, you might want to duck around now ...

A question nine years after thread opened and six years after the last post on it. Somebody is living in a dream world.
