hi all
i was driving the disco today and noticed the radio went really quiet so i tried to turn it up.

When i got home i had i proper fiddle with it and fount out it wont go any louder than a certain volume level, which you can barely hear.
I then pressed CD and it went back to normal volume (it made me jump:))

So any idea,s guys
thanks

its just a standard land rover radio ermmm
i dont think its got wet but could a wire come loose? not sure though

Doubtful that it's a loose connection especially with it coming back up to full volume by pressing the CD input. Are there any 'spare' wires hanging around or weird holes around the dash? Often these issues are caused by a mobile phone installation that was not removed fully, mind you that normally mutes the sound completely.

not really checked for wires hanging around i really baffled me when i press CD.
its like ive put in into night mode basically lower's the highest volume
so so strange:confused:

Hmmm. A bang from near the sunvisor (cue numerous eronious suggestions).
On the TD5 Disco 2 the radio aerials are "etched" onto the glass of the rear quarter windows; 3 wires running down each window. Above each window are the RF pre-amplifiers, one for VHF FM and the other for MW.

Each need a power feed to it, so a good place to start looking for evidence of a short would be up around the visor, behind the headlining unfortunately.
