Can anyone confirm what the part number of the new, definitely fixed, RF receiver under the rear parcel shelf should be? YWY500170, maybe?

I think I'm right in saying there's nothing to tell on the unit itself without opening it up? Is there a part-number inside anywhere?

Mine has PA6GF30 moulded into the plastic casing and a white sticker on it with W.T. LICENSE EXEMPT. (Think this means the governemnt's not going to tax me for using my fob. How generous.) And M.P.T. 10739 (which I think is a reference to the frequency of the fob, although I cannot think what the M.P.T. stands for.)

Cheers,

J

There will be a circular coloured sticker on the unit depicting whether its a 1st fix, 2nd fix or actually fixed receiver. Yellow, Green and Blue I believe, but I can't remember which colour is which. Original units had no sticker.

Do a search, I posted pictures of the 3 types not long ago with part numbers.

Ah, that helps. Mine has blue on. Wondered what that meant. It was on the SAW (surface acoustic wave) resonator inside on the board too.

The board itself did have a number on it: G5045494. The 2 main components seem to be a SAW resonator painted blue (if I scratch the blue off I see RFM R02112 A6X85, see RF Components - SAW RO2112 433.42 MHz SAW Resonator - Single Port - RFM offers a full set of custom embedded wireless networking solutions like Zigbee wireless mesh sensor networks, RF modules, IC transceiver, IC transmitters and IC receivers. RFM, I) and a front end SAW filter (RFM RF1172 A2LY2, see http://www.microchip.ua/rfm/rf1172.pdf). The 2 seem to only just match up with the front end filter at its minimum to couple with the SAW resonator at 500kHz.

@Datatek. Did a search but came back with hundreds or results! Looks like the most recent is YWY500170. I also found a picture of an old board and new but the thumbnails didn't enlarge so couldn't see properly how they compare. Would be interesting to see which components have changed. If it can be successfully modified for a couple of squid then that might make Land Rover rethink charging upward of £150 for a couple of ****y chips.

Cheers all,

J

Been searching round but cannot see any pictures of the latest board to compare. However, I did come across a post by TCcubed who stated the dot colour on it should be green.

That's me worried if I'll park somewhere and come back to burnt out locks.

Sorry mate I'm crap with computers so can't do links but

try post 87 by Datatek in thread from 4th. August (onward) entitled P38 REMOTE, CENTRAL LOCKING AND RECEIVER BRICK WALL.

Bit long winded but it might just get you what you're after.

ah,you won me Nic. o well twice is better than no one posting the photo. :)

Yep, green dot marks the third edition (the one that works).
