Not being a mechanic I could only summise the following:

Rad and Stat = 1.5 hours (with the right tool for the Viscous Fan and it comes off without a struggle)
Service = 2-2.5 hours if you include the Gearbox oil and filter
Door Locks = 1.25 hours per door (never done it, but it could be fiddly)

Total Hours = 7.5 (1 Day or so) at a guessed average of £55 p/h = £412.50

New Rad must be close to a ton (£100) plus Stat £15 ish....Locks £65 each....oils, Filter and fluids (£60-75) Total £320

Grand total = £732.50 so £600 is fair in my eyes....

(THESE FIGURES ARE GUESSTIMATES FROM THE TOP OF MY HEAD AND ARE NO DOUBT WRONG SO DON'T HAVE A POP - ALRIGHT..!!!)

Parts cost Rad £115 /Stat £25 / Door locks £130 each

I've recently done my osf door lock and it took me 50mins from start to finish

As with rad etc 15mins to get out aslong as the bottom bolts come undone and fan is ok

Full service I done with a ramp with auto box oil and filter check all brakes coolant change brale fluid took me 3 hours but I done pads front and rear aswell so seems fair

That stat price seems cheap, as in non genuine. I would pay the extra which from memory is about £65. I've used a few of the cheapies in recent years and had nothing but grief with them. Just stick with the genuine item these days and have had no issues with them.

As for the £600, that seems a fair price for the amount of work involved. The chap has to put the bacon on the table after all, its when they want the whole pig you have to ask questions!!

I got a stat for £16 it was an original (well they manufacture the exact same one for Land Rover) only difference was it didn't have the Land Rover name on it...... BUT I cant for the life of me remember where I bought it from!!!

They're a bit more involved on the petrol one's Dopey. They come enclosed in a plastic housing which tends to leak on the seal around the middle, well it did on the 2 I've used. Also one of them refused to open, as in it was seized shut. The genuine one on at the moment has been on over a year without issue.

I'm sure lots of people have fitted the £25 one's without issue, I'm just giving my experiences.
