Me too. The previous owner of my Jag fitted new jacking points to that standard and I bought the car without any regrets. Its fine. You wouldn't get any sort of certificate for it though

if its where you rest your foot ..that plates not going to last a week...shame full thing is...so ..dosent this guy give a dam about his work...he cant even be bothered to wire cut the weld wire off,and put under seal on..this guy..dont give a dam..ide sack him for the attitude ..never mind the weld

I used to take cars to a garage run by a Sicilian family. Going back many years the proprietor once tore away a plate welded like that with his bare hands from someone's Austin Metro and threw it out of the open garage doors with the words, "take a the f*ckin' thing outta here and don't a bring it back"!!!!

Actually some of the welding ive seen on the cars that I have bought to restore over the years has been far worse!!
It just always amazes me that such work has passed an MOT inspection on these cars
BUT on the plus side it does give me room to negotiate
