You know the rules!! Pics or it didn't happen!! We need pics of your landy with muddy tyres to prove you enjoyed it! They'll look after you.

I have loads of pics of my Landy covered in mud, usually with the horse trailer in a similar state :D:D

I might have no idea about recovering landrovers but I am pretty good at getting a trailer and a couple of horses off muddy show fields :D:D

Its the dead worms I hate :eek::eek:

This is one way OOP Norf! Y.L.R.O.C

They meet where I keep my horses :D:D about 2 miles away. Now here is the disadvantage of being female and older. I would feel a total idiot turning up there on my own :eek:
its the club I was involved with up to 3 or 4 years ago, I let the membership lapse.
also a number of the people that turn up at the workshop are in the club, so you'll already know some of them.

this thread's had some excellent advise by jai, theres no point saying anything else really as i'd just be repeating stuff!

I use the recovery strop from procomp. Pulls anything from land rovers to lorries. And by lorries i mean stuck lorries up to the axles in mud with 16 ton of water on board. They give . Lifting strops do not. Theyre not designed to. I dont think id trust a lifting strop for recovery. I know for a fact i wouldnt use a kinetic rope EVER.

+1 for recovery straps( tow straps here) got 4''x30' rated 20 ton works great.
Have seen them rated upto 80 ton.:D

Nowt wrong with kenetic ropes when used right lots of videos and plenty of mates mates that had one go bit like the centre diff lock and windup it does put more strain on everything but will not explode your tranny box if you happen o leave it engaged for a couple of miles unless you have a dodgy box in the first place.

You treat anything that you use for recovery in the same way. it will break, where will it go and what is likely to hit.

As for those procomp straps I've used spydermans and it seems ok my money is still on a rope tho sorry if I turned up at a comp the strop is non compliant.

I like kinetic ropes But wouldn't use them without window mesh and wouldn't tow another motor unless I was confident their tow point was 100%. I once saw a tow ball come of during a KER recovery or should say I didn't see it and we never found it either, if you buy one make sure you understand the dangers.

The problem is knowing who has decent tow points chassis etc A
rear x member departed a supposedly good series III chassis leaving the guy not able to play anymore. I know even those pro comp strop are not allowed in our club I think other clubs have similar views.
