Putting 200tdi engine in v6 petrol

Hi to all.
Need some advice from you guys that may have done this before.
Wanting to know if I can put a 200tdi engine in a v8 petrol and still keep the disco as auto.

May be v8, looking into getting this car in next few days,
Wanted to know if it was possible to put my engine in out of my 200tdi, the one I am looking at getting is auto and I would like to keep it this way as I was going to give it my partner at some point.
A friend said he has known it be done but he never saw or did it himself.
Would really like your honest opinion guys.

Honest opinion? well if you dont know the answer to this, re power delivery differences between v8 petrol and 200tdi diesel, i would say it is outside of your comfort zone.

Not done much mechanics pal and always look to people on here who pass good advice,
My 200tdi engine and box are sound, unfortunately the rear cross member and body mounts have just about had it.
My 200 disco is a 3 door and the v8 is 5 door with seven seats- would it be possible to put the body off the v8 on to my 200tdi? i measured from the centre of each wheel and there is around 20mil difference.

its only practable to fit 200 tdi with the 200 tdi auto gear box ,v8 auto will change gear at the wrong time and is bloody awful to drive ,apart from that you need all the bits that go on engine to run auto, bodies are a straight swap with some wiring to do from v8 to tdi

If you have enough money you can put any motor into anything. Is this practical NO

leave the practical stuff to those that can pal, im sure you are good at something, let that be your forte, because this stuff sure isn't.

If he does not try then he never will mi old,
will try my hand at almost anything and will gladly hold my hands up if i make mistakes.
Good to get sound advice from the good folks on here who don't mind sharing there knowledge.
